Our River Trip

We had our first official river trip as a family. We drove down to Myers Flat on Memorial Day to get some warm sunshine. It was about 80 degrees with only a little bit of wind blowing. Charley dipped Ella's feet in the water, but it was too cold for her. We only stayed for a couple of hours because we didn't want Ella to get too much sun. We're so happy that summer is on its way!! : )

She's all over the place!

Ella is ready for summer!

Ella has started to scoot herself across the floor. I will leave the room for a few minutes and come back to find her on the other side of the rug. We really have to be careful now that she is rolling a lot. I don't want her to hurt herself. Ella is going to her first powder puff game this Friday. I hope it isn't too cold outside.

Ella's Four Month Appointment

I guess they didn't hurt her too bad...

Ella with her new hat on.

Ella had her four month appointment this afternoon. She weighs 14 pounds 2 ounces and is 25 inches long. The doctor said that she is in the 75th percentile for everything except her weight. She is running a little below average with her weight. He said that she gained three pounds since last time, so he isn't worried about it. She was very scared of Dr. Jeff!! She did not like him messing with her. She even screamed when he picked her up. Of course she stopped as soon as she was in her Momma's arms. Dr. Jeff said he was surprised to see her having stranger anxiety so young. Most babies don't get it until they are nine months old. Ella was happy and playing on the table when the nurse came in with her shots. She started screaming as soon as that first needle went into her little leg. I haven't seen her that mad in a long time. She was holding my hands and looking into my eyes as she cried. I felt so bad that I was the one responsible for her pain!! I cried a little too. She doesn't have to go back until July when she will be six months old. I'm just going to snuggle and love her the rest of the day today.

My Very First Mother's Day

This is one of my favorite pictures of Ella.

It has been a year since Charley and I told the family that we were going to have a baby. Now we are a family of three and I just love it. We had plenty of time with just the two of us. I'm happy to be Ella's Mom even though I barely sleep anymore. She makes my life complete. I feel that I have something to live for everyday that I wake up. I use to complain a lot about stupid little things that happened to me. Now I am so content in life and have realized how much more good there is than bad. I could stare at that little girl all day long. She is just too cute for words. It's so amazing how much you can love someone. I know that we have a long road ahead of us and it's not going to be easy at times, but it will ALWAYS be worth it. I couldn't imagine my life any other way.

Happy 4 Months Ella

Ella had rice cereal for the first time last week. This is before...

And this is after!

She got an exersaucer a couple of weeks ago and loves to play in it.

I just can't believe that Ella will be four months old tomorrow. She has changed so much since she was born. She wants to move around all the time and play with her toys. It is so cute to see her personality start to come out. She has to get another set of shots on the 15th. I'm really anxious to see how much she weighs. It seems like she is growing so fast.

She finally found her feet!!

Ella has found her new favorite toy...her very own feet!! It's funny because she grunts as she reaches for them. Silly girl. We had kind of a long night last night. She has been waking up a lot lately. I guess that's why God created the coffee bean. : )

WELCOME to our blog!!!

I decided to create a blog for our friends and family to view and get updated on how things are going. Charley and I are still trying to adjust to parenthood. It hasn't even been four months yet, but it already has been very challenging. Maybe that's because we have such a high maintenance daughter. Ella is having momma withdrawals to say the least. She cries whenever I'm not around... Which makes it so hard on the family who are so gracious to watch her even though she cries the whole time. My sister-in-law Teresa has been so awesome to us! She takes such good care of Ella while I'm at work. Somehow she is able to bare through it in hopes that Ella will grow out of it soon. I'm am also hoping... Charley has started his new schedule at work which allows him to work four ten hour days. Now Ella and Dad get to hang out together on Fridays! I'm so happy that they will get some time to bond. Unfortunately Charley hasn't had a set day off for over a year now. He has been working seven days a week for sooooo long. What an awesome husband I have. Well I am going to try to keep our blog up to date. I plan on posting at least once a week to show everyone how fast our princess is growing up. So check back often. : )
