We Got Some Sun

Hmmm... A pumpkin full of socks... Don't know about that girl sometimes!

We spent Memorial Day at the river. Ella had a blast playing in the sand and rocks. She loves throwing rocks in the water which is what she spent most of her time doing. I relaxed in the sun and got a nice tan. I'm so happy summer is on its way!
On Friday we took Ella to a preschool that I've been interested in for quite some time now. We observed the classroom for about an hour. Ella joined in free play, circle time, and snack time. She even peed on the potty while we were there!! She is going to start mid-August. This is just a couple weeks before the fall class starts so that she's not overwhelmed with such a big class at first. She will be going three half days a week. I was worried that she wouldn't be ready, but she sat and participated in all the activities without even worrying where we were. She keeps asking me when she can go back again.

A Better Week

"I'm not listening...."
This week has been a much better week. I'm back to my normal workout schedule and it feels good again.
I start a new shift at work on Saturday. It will be nice to get off earlier than my usual 11:00-11:30 P.M. time.
Ella's ear seems to be getting better. She's on her second set of antibiotics because the first set didn't get rid of it. We also got ear plugs for her when she takes a shower with me. It is very important to keep the water out.
Charley has Monday off and I don't work until 4, so I think we are going to head to the river for a little family day trip. Ella and I need to find bathing suits. I'm thrilled summer is on it's way.

Life is just Plain Rough Sometimes!

Lately I haven't been feeling the greatest. I have literally been sick and trying to get better for about three weeks. I'm beginning to not know what it feels like to feel normal. I'm frustrated with resting all day long and not getting anything done. I'm also irritated that I have had to miss so many workouts because those are pretty much the only thing I do for myself. I feel like I've gained five pounds because I'm just laying around all day long. And it's not like I just get a little stuffy nose. Every time I get sick I get a full blown nasty virus and not just a "cold". I don't get it.

Ella is also having her issues. Seems like she just can't escape those darn ear infections. She gets one after the other.

She just started dressing herself. Right when she wakes up she runs into her room and picks out a shirt, pants, socks (always mis-matched), and a jacket. She just has to get ready for the day I guess. Better than me... I stay in my jammies all day.

I had a great Mother's Day. Charley got me coffee in the morning and then drive me to work. He took my car and washed it and cleaned the whole inside. Then he picked me up and made dinner. Him and Ella also got me flowers and chocolate covered strawberries.

Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day. I can't wait to feel good again.

Can you see me?!
Ella with her many utensils eating Jello.

Lately Ella has been wanting to help with EVERYTHING!! I think she is very eager to grow up and do grown up things. One of the many things she has to do is help lock the door when we leave and push the button to unlock the car. She loves to help me cook dinner, put the dishes away, start the washing machine, and many more!
She's also starting to communicate better. Like the other night she said, "Mommy, juice...Hurry up!!" I tried to explain to her that it wasn't polite to say hurry up, but then again I say it to her all the time!
My Dad, my little sister, and I successfully completed the 1/2 marathon at the Avenue of the Giants on Sunday. We thought we were gonna get rained on, but the weather was perfect. I really enjoyed doing it.
Mother's Day is on Sunday and I'm working... At least I'll be working with one of my best friends and she's a mom too.
