My Little Helper

Sitting on Sadie

She's very interested in how everything works.
Playing hide and seek, but she didn't realize that I could still see her whole body!

Ella is very eager to help me with different things around the house these days. She loves helping with the laundry, dishes, floors, etc. Sometimes she is a help, but sometimes she just makes more work for me. Her newest chore is putting the soap in the dishwasher. She manages to get it all over her hands. This allows her to do her second favorite thing, which is washing her hands. We put a little stool in the bathroom for her to stand on while washing her hands. Every time we open the bathroom door she makes a mad dash to the sink. I guess I should enjoy my little helper since she doesn't quite know what the word "allowance" means yet.

She just loves our two dogs to death. Almost a little too much... She always wants to lay on them and be rough with them. The dogs are kind of getting sick of it! They are old and grumpy these days... As you can see in the pictures Ella loves to love on Sadie. Once Sadie has had enough she will leave and climb onto my bed. Ella will then follow her up onto the bed, which causes Sadie to leave the bed and get onto her own bed. It goes on and on and on.

I am excited for Ella to see the big fireworks on the fourth. I'm not sure if she'll be awake, but hopefully she will be. I also am hoping that she won't be scared of them.

Just Another Boring Monday...

Can't believe a new week is already here! The weekends seem to fly by way too fast. Charley got off early both days this weekend, which was very nice! Now another Monday has begun and I'm bored... I'm always trying to find things to do to keep Ella entertained. Today we went outside to draw on the sidewalk with chalk. It was fun until it was time to go inside and Ella threw a huge fit.

Happy 2nd Father's Day to Charley!!

We had an amazing time last week hanging out as a family. We were able to go out to breakfast for Swedish pancakes!!! That is something we haven't done in a very long time since Charley works 6 days a week. They were worth every calorie. Ella even ate an entire pancake all by herself. I couldn't believe it. On Father's Day we went to Charley's sister's house for a BBQ. It was great to hang out with the family while the kiddos played in the yard. Today I took Ella to the park. After about 15 minutes she was ready to go home. She just started running toward the car. She is doing very good in her crib. She only wakes up about 2-3 times a night, but we have also seen a huge improvement in her attitude. Plus I am getting more sleep myself.

Ella has learned some new things this past week. She still loves saying hi, but now she likes to say hi Ella. Sounds more like hi yella. She has also learned how to light the burners on the stove nearly burning down the house today! Yesterday she pushed her tricycle over to the island in the kitchen so that she could stand on the seat so that she was tall enough to pull everything off the counter. She seems to be figuring things out a little too quickly for me. She's much smarter than I think she is!! Oh and how could I forget that she has learned how to open the front door as well!! I was taking the trash out last Friday and she walked right out the front door!

Hi!!!!!

Ella in her new leg warmers that I got her for gymnastics.

Sleeping beauty

Look at how long she is!

We had a very rough week this past week. I finally made the decision to make Ella sleep in her crib again. She was at the point where she wouldn't even nap because she needed me to be right by her side to fall asleep. With a little prayer and commitment (on my part) I was able to get her back in the habit of sleeping in her own bed. I was feeling very stressed out that I had to spend every single second of my day with Ella. I wasn't getting any time to myself. Now I get the whole night plus part of the morning. The last three days she has slept in until 10 AM!! She is still waking up about 3 times during the night. I'm sure with time it be back to the way it used to be when she didn't wake up at all.
I'm amazed at how much she has grown these past few months. She is starting to talk more. Her word for the week is "Hi!!!!!!" She loves to tell everyone hi. It's really cute.
Charley has Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday off this week! I told him he better start a "to-do" list otherwise he is going to go insane with all the free time. Ella and I are excited to spend some time with him. Maybe we can plan a day trip or something like that. I'm also glad that he has Father's Day off. He deserves it!

Hot Dog!!!

Her hair is finally getting long!

Ella's new favorite word is "hot dog!!!" She mistakes various items for hot dogs such as string cheese, walnuts, apples, kiwis, and on and on... I think she just likes to hear herself say the two words. She has been very vocal lately. I got her a little baby stroller a few days ago, and she has been playing with it non-stop since I brought it home!! She doesn't necessarily like to push around babies though as you can see. Easter eggs seem to be her favorite thing to push around so far.
