Blah

With her first set of pigtails

And this is what she does when I tell her to smile... Crazy kid!!

Nothing all that exciting happened this week. Ella did start asking "how come?".... Kind of like when kids ask why about everything. I guess she is getting to the point where she needs things explained to her now. Just a yes or no answer is not enough.
I know that my baby is growing up, but sometimes it's really hard to accept. Our runs are really hard to enjoy because she is getting so heavy. I've already eliminated all hills from my run and I'm still only able to run at a very slow pace. For a while I thought I had lost my stamina, but then I ran one day without pushing her and I did just fine. I'm going to push myself as long as I can. I don't want our running time together to end anytime soon.
Ella had her first dentist appointment yesterday. Charley took her while I was working. Apparently she cried the entire time. I'm not surprised since it's a battle with her every time we brush her teeth. The dentist said her teeth looked great. She goes back for a cleaning in September. That should be fun...

Happy Birthday to Charley

Charley's birthday was on Friday the 13th. He had told me a few months ago that he really wanted to try snowboarding. I had this great idea that I would take him for his birthday, but that I would keep it a surprise so that it was a little more exciting. I e-mailed his supervisor a couple weeks ago and asked to get the Wednesday and Thursday before his birthday off. He e-mailed me back letting me know that it was done and it would be kept a secret. So we woke up Wednesday morning and I had him open a present which was a beanie I had bought him perfect for cold weather. He opened it and I said, "you're gonna need that for our trip!" He was so confused and didn't believe me. He called his work and made sure that he did have the days off. It was so cute because his supervisor didn't even tell anyone and had Charley on a "special project" for those two days.

So we drove up to Medford Oregon on Wednesday and did some shopping. I finally got the Blackberry I've been wanting forever and I love it! We went out for a nice dinner and had a couple drinks at the bar at the hotel. It was fun to visit Medford where we lived for almost a year back in 2003. We ate at one of our favorite restaurants and got coffee at a couple places that we haven't been to since we left. The area has grown so much. I can't say that I miss it much though. I miss having everything be so cheap... I really do love the scenery on the coast. It's so beautiful here and I really take that for granted. Plus, I would DIE without my family!!! Oh my gosh, I love being close to them!

Then on Thursday morning we headed up to Mount Ashland for a day of snowboarding. The weather was AMAZING! There was not a cloud in the sky. We were even sweating in the snow! There was an awesome panoramic view. Snow is just so beautiful and pure. We are never near it, so it was fun to play in it. We only went down the easy slope, but it was still really hard. We both didn't do good at all... It was still fun to get out and try something new. And it was especially nice to be alone! This was only our second night away from Miss Ella. She stayed at Charley's sister's and did really good. She never asked for us once. Thank God for my sister-in-law who takes such good care of my baby. She even watched our Doberman as well! My parents ended up with our Jack Russell Roxy who had fun playing with their dog. I'm glad I decided to do the trip because we rarely go anywhere since we are both always busy working.

Anyway, Ella had her 2 year check-up and was 30 pounds. The doctor said she is growing right on target and predicts that she will be about 5'6'' when she is full grown. She got a shot and a finger prick while she was there. She kept talking about her owie from the doctor. Poor thing!

She has started wanting to pick out her own clothes. I think it's hilarious. She'll say "how about this one?" Like today she was wearing an orange shirt, brown pants, and red Hello Kitty socks. Thankfully she let me change her before we left the house.

Happy St. Patricks Day! I'm working tonight and I'm pretty sure we'll be slammed. I'm kind of excited since we've been so slow lately.

Happy anniversary Mom and Dad!

It Was Horrible... As Expected

I can't believe it has already been a week since the surgery. It was one of the most miserable moments in my life. I went in at 9 Wednesday morning and was home around 11 after getting a couple movies. I even called my parents on the way home and told them I was okay. Then a couple hours later around 2:30, I was in the worst pain. My right side was aching and throbbing. All I could do was cry. My prescription had said to only take one pill every 4-6 hours, so I was afraid to take another one. I finally called the doctor and she told me to take 2 more and then ibuprofen two hours after that. I felt much better once those pain killers kicked in. I was able to take a nice long nap. For dinner I had a milkshake and mashed potatoes. I continued to eat soft foods for about a week. I'm just starting to chew again and my mouth is still aching. I can't wait to recover fully in another couple weeks. I am just annoyed with all the aching and hurting. I was so thankful that Charley was home to baby me. I felt like a queen! I had to go back to work 2 days after the surgery. I looked like a chipmunk... The girls even made me a sticker to put over my name tag that said, "just call me chip!" I'm very glad that's over with.
